Some stories don’t wait for a client. Our independent documentary work is unsolicited — projects we pursue because we believe the story is worth the effort, not because someone paid us to find it.
Independent documentary production runs on a different logic than broadcast programming or client work. There’s no guaranteed air date and no commissioning brief — just a producer who found a story and a crew willing to shoot it properly.
That freedom is deliberate. Four decades in broadcast television gave us the production discipline to see a documentary through from development to a finished cut; our independent slate is where we put that discipline toward stories we chose ourselves.
Allan Savory is renowned for his innovations in holistic land management and regenerative agriculture. This film follows him through his transition to a harder question: what’s wrong in the way we make policy for the world. It isn’t cattle, or mineral extraction, or climate change that needs to be managed — it’s the way we, as institutions, manage them. Built around extensive original interviews with Savory, now in his 90s, the film examines what it has taken him seven decades to understand: the way we implement policy may itself be more destructive to the earth and its future than the very things we believe are causing the harm.
